BudgetMonth View

πŸ“… Month View

The default view shows your full budget grid for the selected month. Each category group (e.g. Housing, Transport, Groceries) lists its categories with:

  • Budgeted β€” The amount you’ve allocated
  • Activity β€” What you’ve actually spent (from transactions)
  • Available β€” Budgeted minus activity (what’s left)

Use the month navigator (arrows) to move between months. Enter amounts in the budgeted column to allocate your income. The goal is to have To be budgeted at zero β€” meaning every pound has a job.

A common approach: assign any leftover budget to a single savings category (e.g. β€œEmergency fund” or β€œSavings buffer”). That way, surplus income is explicitly earmarked for savings rather than left unallocated.
